The Style Files : The Low Pony - Hair Trend 

Ponytails may just be the easiest on trend hairstyle around. A favourite amoung designers this hair trend has been spotted on countless runways. Sometimes, tossing your hair into a ponytail is the easiest thing to do especially if it’s a bad hair day. But the thing a ponytail can communicate, especially a low pony, if done right, is pure elegance and not just an "I’m running late" attitude. 

Gathered at the nape of the neck, these ponies are a lot more sophisticated and chic and a lot less bouncy cheerleader. They're so versatile they work with a deep side or middle part, and can be worn with straightened, textured, or curly locks. 

Wrapping a section of hair around the base of your ponytail is the easiest way to upgrade your ponytail. It’s easier to achieve when your hair is a little damp and prepped with a styling cream. But you don’t have to use your own hair to cover up the elastic. Wrap ribbon, string, or lacing around the base of the ponytail to add texture, colour, and to further secure your look. Tip: make sure you create the ponytail and secure it with your elastic and hairspray before tying on your accessory so that it doesn’t slip out and ruin your hairstyle completely. We have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of this simple yet polished style.
