Swim Week Colombo is set to take place from the 24 – 26 of June at the Colombo Port and is a host to a number of designers, both local and international. Having collaborated with reputed swimwear manufacturer, Linea Aqua, Swim Week Colombo will present 14 Sri Lankan and international designers on the runway.
Partnering up with Swim Week Colombo, Life/Life Online puts the spotlight on a designer brands C.H.A.R.L.E.N.E.
Keeping the style with the least amount of fuss and bother, c.h.a.r.l.e.n.e is all about being fashion forward.
Their swimwear collection titled ‘Aves’ is set to focus on the beauty of the feathered world with the fusion of unsual bold graphics and a touch of funk.
What type of a woman did you have in mind when designing your swimwear collection?
Someone who is bold, colourful, fun and playful. She’s the kind of girl you would want in your group of friends because you know she’s up for anything! She’s active and cheerful too!
What makes C.H.A.R.L.E.N.E different from other swimwear collections?
I’ve tried my best to give a range of silhouettes to fit all types of body forms. So if you are conservative, sporty or even a tad bit more feminine than the rest, I’ve got something for you.
Keeping with your theme of ‘Aves’, how did you balance the design and the theme?
‘Aves’ means Birds in Latin. So I’ve chosen to use a few graphics of birds playing around with geo shapes and finally polishing it up with a simple colour palette.
Any swimwear trends you’re particularly fond of that resonates in your collection?
Yes, the Graphic trend that is popping up all over my collection is my favourite! And I’ve incorporated that into a few styles.
