Onset was a lot of fun as these shirts spoke my personality and it added so much to how I wanted to feel, and the pics and the behind the scenes video will give you a good look at what went down with this shoot! 

What sparked your interest in fashion? 

This interest started towards the latter part of my high school days and was also influenced by a lot of my friends who had a great sense of style. Especially those living overseas. 

What were your inspirations for the designs you create? 

Inspirations are based new looks/attire that I see people wear on a regular basis and tweak those to add a little charm and character. 

What do you feel, Stripes & Checks add to the market? 

S&C adds flair to the market with premium fabric, personalization options and unique design. We are the one-stop shop for the perfect shirt for any occasion. 

What are your plans for the future, with this brand as there are many in the market? 

We have 3 avenues of business – corporate shirts, made-to-measure shirts and ready-to-wear. We plan to provide the best fit, creative designs and options to make each shirt truly personal to the customer. Our website will be rolled out soon and that will take us international. 

What is it that you featured in this shoot? 

Our latest made-to-measure collection for 2017. 

How do you balance creativity with business? 

Creativity is a corner stone of our business which takes us to a wide range of customers. Without that we wouldn’t have achieved what have so far. The trick is to give the customer the perfect shirt to match their preferences and they will come back to us. 

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started your fashion company? 

All customers are different and that has kept me on my toes to keep my designs fresh while balancing the standard requirements. The competition has made me constantly innovate in our factory to continue to provide the best shirt. 

What’s your latest fashion design project? 

We’re taking our unique styles for those who need a shirt in hurry through our ready-to-wear range now available at Cotton Collection. 

Where do you see Stripes & Checks in 5 years’ time? 

We hope to sell the best shirt tailored in sri lanka to a global audience. 

What advice would you give to aspiring fashion designers? 

I would encourage them not to hold back on what they think looks good. There is no limit to design and there’s always going be an audience if marketed well. All the best, get creative. 

As my clothing supplier, what do you hope to put me in for the future? 

We have just imported a new range of fabric so you must pay us a visit to get ahead on the styles for 2017.

How was working with this gentleman brand? 

I was following this brand for sometime but never knew much details about it until the shoot. I really love the quality of the material used to design the shirts. And when you wear a piece of clothing from their range, it has that perfect fit. They really represent the brand. 

As a fashionable photographer, what would you say is the positive side to this brand? 

I guess it's their bespoke tailoring which made them so unique. As men we should always admire a good shirt fitting to your body type. On the other hand, Striped & Checks Inc. shirts are so in these days for men's fashion. 

What did you think of the collection they put across for this shoot? 

The collection we shot was mostly related to the season, with a more glamorous and dressy look. I guess they were more occasion wear type ones.
