Aspiring designer and model, Minoli believes that clothes are more about how you feel wearing them than how it looks. Naturally, her personal style is a true reflection of who she is as a person. "My wardrobe consists of a lot of black, and a lot of soft colours. I also enjoy wearing mild feminine prints every now and then. My outfits can range from a girly summer dress to an outfit that looks like I just stepped out of a rock band."
So as a designer what does she believe to be the beauty of fashion? Well for her, it’s when you don’t have to restrict yourself or fit in to a particular category. "You can be whoever you want to be, whenever you please; as long as you don’t offend anyone in your society and as long as it makes you smile when you look at yourself in the mirror."
This week on Street Style, we take an insider’s peek into Minoli’s sense of style.

My first outfit is a black casual dress with an exaggerated armhole; paired with combat boots (my personal favourite!). I consider this a smart casual look with an edgy twist to it. This dress is from “Danté”, my clothing line, which is to be launched in a couple of months.
LOOK 2
My second outfit is a black skater dress, with lace up heels.
LOOK 3
This is a cut out cocktail dress. It’s ideal for a cocktail or an evening out. The outfit is also paired with lace up black heels.
Style Role Model : I don’t have a style role model per se. I mostly just play it by ear. But in terms of fashion, at this moment of time, Alexander Wang is one of my favourite designers. But as far as style goes, I believe it is something very personal. Style is whom YOU want to portray yourself as. And who better to look to than to what inspires you?
Favourite Colours to Pair : Black with a slight accent of colour and pastel colours with pale blue jeans.
Go To Outfit : A skater skirt and a crop top paired with shoes that suit the occasion.
Style Must Have’s?
· A well-fitted denim (my favourite is the Levi’s demi curve low rise skinny jean) that compliments your body.
· A pair of shoes that look rad but still keeps your feet cosy and mobile throughout the day (like my combat boots).
· A go to dress that you feel ever so comfortable in even when you go a little above your usual weight and don’t want anyone else to notice (in my case, I turn to skater skirts or dresses as they fall beautifully over all the curves I want to hide and exaggerate the smallest part of my body).
Style Tip : It’s not what you wear; it’s how you wear it. Style to me is an expression of who I am. And if I’m confident and comfortable with whom I am, and what I choose to wear, the rest just falls into place. To me, it’s not about the height of your heel, the length of your dress, or the size of your waist. It’s about the smile on your face, the confidence in your posture, and the gracefulness in your behaviour. So my style hack to you is to pair all your outfits with the latter three.
