The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Runways (MBFR) is ready to rock the ramp this November! Set to take place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of November at SLECC, this international fashion runway is presented by AOD in partnership with DIMO/Mercedes-Benz, making up the tail-end of the global Spring/Summer fashion calendar with collections centered on travel fashion. 

Adopting the concept of ‘Travel Fashion’, MBFR aims to identify Sri Lanka as the first Travel Fashion Destination across the world.  And just how are they going to accomplish this? Well, Life Online has got you covered!

Spiritual Travel 

Everyone needs a small break from life, stress and technology. And what better way to get that break than going on a retreat. From private sessions at a spa, mediate to visiting religious sites and learning to do yoga; a retreat is exactly what you need to relax and rejuvenate. 

And if you are wondering exactly what one wears for a retreat, we have got you covered; 

Harem Pants / Cotton Pants: The goal is comfort from the beginning to the very end of your journey. Harem and cotton pants are a key piece of clothing that is comfortable and functional and if your suitcase has a couple of them packed then you can mediate and detox at your ease. 

Shawls: A simple shawl is useful whether you are in an air conditioned room or out in the hot sun. You can use it for coverage from the sun or the chill and if you plan on visiting any religious sites, you can use it to help cover yourself. 

Slip-on Shoes: This is one journey where those killer heels or those fancy sandals are not needed. Slip on sneakers or flip-flops would be ideal but if you know you will be hiking bring a pair of versatile running shoes. 

White Everything: When on a spiritual journey, it’s all about detoxing and finding a place of calm. Colour psychology says that white tends to have a calming effect on a person so why not pack clothes that will help you have a sense of well- being. Besides, if visits to religious places are in your itinerary, white is always a safe choice of clothing to wear when visiting! 

Simple Jewellery: Don’t go overboard, bring only the basics. If you want to wear accessories, bring along simple studs and chains to wear with your outfit. 

MBFR 2016 will take place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of November at the SLECC.
