A student of  International Relations at Royal Institute affiliated with the University of London –LSE, designer Nithiesha launched her eponymous label to satiate her desire to become a fashion designer. An admirer of people who dress well, Nithiesha was attracted to fashion design as she believes she has the ability to design clothes that people will want to own.

What made you embark on a career in fashion?

I have always been keen on fashion and I've admired people who dress well. Hence I believed I could put my ideas on a canvas, design them and have people wear them someday.

Late Hues.

Describe this new collection?

This new collection consists of blue and black which was inspired by the sky at night.

How long have you been a designer for?

Roughly a year.

What inspired this collection?

The trips I take around our little island and the shades of the sky.

What are the challenging aspects of running a fashion business in Sri Lanka?

Fashion could be a demanding business especially when you want to keep up with the trends. Given the many opportunities for young and upcoming designers, I believe that it's becoming reasonably easier.
