Style Staple - The Jumpsuit.

Jumpsuits are happening once the ultimate utilitarian uniform, the jumpsuit has come a long way in the fashion landscape. This perennial fashion fave and style staples popularity shows no signs of abating! Remember when jumpsuits were first a thing, many, years ago in the seventies and people all thought they would be a flash-in-the-pan, like the white stiletto? Here we are, with the white stiletto all but dead and buried, and the jumpsuit still going strong.

Jumpsuits are a huge trend for the seventies revival happening this season. International designers like Tory Burch, Roksanda Illincic and Gucci and local designers like Darshi Keerthisena ( Buddhi Batiks) and Deema Rupasinghe , to name a few are championing the jumpsuit.

The appeal of the jumpsuit is primarily an attitude thing: it instantly makes you feel sassy in a Beyoncé/Solange kind of a way. Also, it’s as easy as a dress but you feel less exposed and is flattering for all age groups and can be styled in a myriad of ways. The jumpsuit  offers not only easy one-piece dressing for day but also a chic option for evening — especially when cut long and sleek in a halter or deep V-neck version or when cropped and accessorized with the season’s sexiest shoes.
