Over the weeks leading up to MBFR, we will take a closer look at what Travel Fashion is and explore some key trends that you can look forward to seeing on the ramp this November!

So you've got your essential vacation-by-the-beach outfits sorted. Today, a guide to dressing up!

Dress To Impress

If you are travelling to impress, you’ve got to look the part whether it’s to the hotel lobby or the rooftop lounge.

From your departure to your arrival, here’s what you need to take you from AM to PM in minutes!

Jumpsuits: Back in trend and getting popular by the minute, the jumpsuit is an elegant and tasteful piece of clothing to own and is a great alternative to a gown! If you want to impress, either rock the jumpsuit in solid colours or go all out with bold hues and print but don’t compromise in the middle!

Neutral Colours and a Pop Of Colour: For a day look, an outfit with neutral, toned down colours such as a nude would say a lot more than bright colours would. But while neutral colours will make you look great, carrying a small bag with a pop of colour is a small and inexpensive way to update your look and dress to impress.

Bright for the Night: Bright colours always create excitement and draws attention.  Be mindful of how you pick the colours. Bright orange may draw attention but it may not impress. Pick your colours carefully and go for rich colours to emphasize quality clothing.

Bodycon Dresses: Not only does bodycon dresses accentuate your curves, it also makes you look great!

LBD (Little Black Dress): No wardrobe is complete without a LDB. It’s a style staple and it’s the only thing you can rely on when all other options have failed and you are left confused on what to wear. And no matter how you wear it, it’s fail proof so you are always dressed to impress in your LBD.

Accessories: Accessories go a very long way in dressing to impress. You could be wearing the plainest outfit but with the right accessories you can work the look! A simple chain can have the same effect as a statement necklace when paired with the right outfit.

Killer Heels: May not be the most comfortable option but it sure has an impact. Whether it’s a 4” heel or a good 6” inch stiletto, heels have always had a way of uplifting your outfit.  Even plain old jeans and t-shirt can be made to look stylish with a simple pair of pumps!

MBFR 2016 will take place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of November at the SLECC. The shows will be live streamed through the website www.mbsrilankafashionrunways.com and the Facebook page Mercedes Benz Fashion Runways Sri Lanka giving access to millions to watch the unveiling of contemporary season-less travel fashion from Sri Lanka.

Local and global customers will also be given the opportunity to shop the runways through the Mercedes Benz Fashion Runways website.
