The Style Files : The Best Dressed List - May 2016
Every month I do a roundup of events that played host to some of the most sartorially savvy, polished, eclectic, and stylish of dressers. In May, these people impressed with their style, their poise, their ability to pull a unique look together and were the most soigne of the soigne for the month. Monochrome pairings took centre stage and there was no shortage of fashion hits last month and I look forward to seeing more stylish looks this month!
Kenny Wizz In Concert
Rishini
Rishini slays in this look. It's sophisticated, sleek and stylish. Her slicked back hair with a pop of fuschia lip and YSl clutch and cage stilettos are the prefect way to accessorize this minimalist chic look. This look hits all the right notes it is understated yet striking.
(L-R) Rishini, Sharmila, Ranil and Rashmi
Sharmila
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, you can’t go wrong with the blue jeans and white top combo. It’s a classic look that will always be in style and Sharmila wears it incredibly well and accessorized beautifully.
Rashmi
Black and white is red hot! The fuss free palette of black and white has been on the fashion radar forever. Eternally chic Rashmi executes this powerful colour pairing with high impact by taking the minimalistic approach with sharp tailoring and classics with edge through her Valentino Rockstuds. I also love how she opted for red lipstick and that on-trend choker. This lady knows what she is doing in the fashion department.
Sooraya
A very edgy look Sooraya understands that monochrome is perfect, offering as it does the freshness of white with the safety and security of the infinitely more forgiving black. The wrap detailing on her skirt ads visual interest as does her slightly cropped tee.
Hilton Cocktails on May 27
Joyce
Orange is a tricky colour to wear, as you need to find the right shade and the right silhouette to have success. The vivid orange works beautifully against her complexion as does her tribal printed clutch. The tousled hair and make up elevate the look giving it an effortless vibe.

Aelien
His personal style means that he wears the clothes, they don’t wear him. His look is always interesting, reflects success and he always gets the details right.
Heidi
When you wear statement footwear keep the rest of your ensemble simple, like Heidi has. Her simple red sheath dress really allows her multi hued Valentino Rockstud shoes to shine.
Casa Asia Conference
Stylish and elegant seems par for the course for this lady. Her powder blue sari with metallic accents, embellished clutch and simple pearl necklace all make for a truly stunning and standout ensemble.
Collectors Desk on May 11
Refined, elegant and stylish, the simplicity of the sari with its grey hue and black detailing work beautifully with her high collared jacket with its pop of pink on the sleeves.

Dirk
This look doesn't try hard to be cool it just is. Paired with relaxed jeans and very cool shoes, Dirk nails it!
Divine Thru on May 6
Saskia
I’m not sure if I like the colour of this dress or the silhouette more. It looks great on Saskia and the addition of nude gladiators, simple hair and accessory free, really allowed the dress to speak for itself. Cool, edgy, interesting.

Q
Her cute, age-appropriate geometrical print jumpsuit is so fun and stylish. Unique, inspired, cool, original Q dresses in her own flamboyant manner and has seized the imagination as an example to a free-spirited, adventurous mindset that, these days, seems in danger of getting lost beneath the anodyne beauty of a Colombo aesthetic that worships straightened locks and perfect make-up above individuality or creativity. Insanely easy to wear, jumpsuits are great as you don't need to worry about matching your top to your bottom. This look is great because it's a statement all on its own (no cool accessories required).
