Tinie Tempah, and local artists Asvajit, and Muku are just some of the talent that will be playing the Electric Peacock Festival on Saturday, 27th April 2013 at Waters Edge.  Music is the main focus of the festival, but both the Directors agree that they are working towards something bigger.

“The Electric Peacock is more than music. It is a cultural and sensory experience,” says Tasha Marikkar, Co Founder of the Electric Peacock. The team behind the Festival has been buzzing about the number of activities that festivalgoers can look forward to on the day of the event.  “Just expect the unexpected,” states Tasha, “it’s going to be full with things to do! We hope that all our planned activities will give the festival a fresh vibe.”

Leah Bazalgette, Co Founder of the Electric Peacock shares, “We have been working with Durex to create a unique chill out tent within the Festival grounds. There will even be a special Love Guru who will be brought in on the day to give love advice to anyone he meets!”

The team is excited to announce their collaboration with AOD International Design Campus as their ‘Creative Youth Partners’ for the third year running. This year the students and staff of AOD International Design Campus have created a number of art installations including a six-foot monster mask that will be the focus of the festival decor. The students have also used their creative juices to create one of a kind tribal and monster masks and costumes to emulate the Electric Peacock chosen theme of “where the wild things are”.

Both Leah and Tasha are extremely excited to have their free costume box back for the second year running and in partnership with the ever quirky and bold fashion brand, Friskybox. Both Directors seem to be over the moon with the activities that are running in the Friskybox costume tent; expect to find free costumes, face painting and a photo booth all in this space!

CBL Rave has got plenty of freebies in store for the festivalgoers including free glow wands! Furthermore, look out for the Rave dancers who will be on stage trying to get the festival attendees raving and dancing.

The Electric Peacock radio partner, TNL Radio and Lite FM, are creating a unique ‘Jam booth’ where festivalgoers with or without a musical ear can come and play with instruments and sing. If they feel that their session in the tent was radio worthy, they can even use it as a demo to enter the TNL Radio Onstage competition.

The festival team has also looked into sub cultures this year with a focus on break dancing and skateboarding; look out for the half pipe and Push Skateboarders exhibiting their skills!

The team is also thrilled to announce their partnership with Cantaloupe Playground; the VIP party event planners. Together, the Electric Peacock and the Cantaloupe Playground teams have planned an incredible VIP experience, with the best luxury brands being present in the section.

All in all it is going to be an incredible night, jam packed with entertainment. Make sure that you get your tickets early for the Electric Peacock Festival on Anything.lk or via Cantaloupe Playground.
