Celebrating Sri Lanka’s Leading Designers

The ‘Designer Wedding Show 2014’, Sri Lanka’s premiere bridal fashion show, showcasing the most well known names synonymous with weddings in Sri Lanka, was hosted at the Hilton Colombo Grand Ballroom on 28th October 2014. Organised and presented by the Bride and Groom Wedding Magazine, this extravagant event, highlighting the leading trends in the wedding industry and setting the stage for new bridal and grooms wear concepts for the coming year, was held for the sixth consecutive year.

The show featured designer creations of Michael Wijesuriya, Ramani Fernando, Ramzi Rahaman, Harris Wijesinghe, Dhananjaya Bandara, Aslam Hussein, Hameedia, Prem Shri Hewawasam, Cheryl Gooneratne, Geetha Boderagama, Romesh Atapattu, Sithara Fernandopulle, Sumudu Wasantha, Thusitha Ethugala, Ranjanas 7 Stories, Indeevari Yapa Abeywardena, and Ramona Oshini.

“We are pleased to once more bring together the country’s best bridal designers and makeup artistes under one roof, for the island’s wedding show of the year. And we feel privileged to be the event that sets trends for the coming year” said Pramith Mallawaratchie, CEO/Managing Editor of the Bride and Groom Magazine. He further added, “The magazine has gone from strength to strength over the past years and we hope to offer our readers with even more interesting concepts, tips and designs in the issues to come”.

The principal sponsor of the show was Hameedia and the jewellery partner for the show was Vogue Jewellers. The venue was decorated by the event’s floral partner - Blooms, while Mal-Key-Rent-a-Car officiated as the transport provider. E Fm covered the show as the media sponsors. Co-Sponsors of the event were Ranjanas 7 stories and PVS Jayaratne.

The stage and lighting was carried out by Kashyapa Sounds and Lights. The bridal registry partner this year was the weddingregistry.lk while Treats Cakes and Cupcakes was the official cake partner. The coordination of this event was assisted by Rozanne Diasz. Featured photographers at the event included Arantha Sirimanne, Red Velvet, Nadun Baduge, Preveen Rodrigo, Dylan Seedin and Jehan Seedin.

The Bride and Groom Magazine, the country’s leading wedding magazine is now in its 23rd issue. The magazine brings you up-to-date details of local and international bridal design trends and details of service providers in the Sri Lankan wedding industry.
