Trouble in Tooth Fairyland is a play for children presented by the young actors of the children’s drama group Kids @ Play. The play is written and directed by Neluka Silva, who has been conducting drama classes for children for the last 9 years. The actors are all excited and geared up to entertain you this week. The little actors explained how they have enjoyed the experience and what their characters are within this unusual story.

The goblins – played by Avani (10), Ayisha (10), Chavini (10), Kalana (8) and Pavith (7) are thrilled to play the “naughty” characters. As the mischief makers, they get the naughty fairy Trouble to join them and make her even more naughty. Pavith says “I love playing this part because its funny” and Ayisha loves the adventures of going to the north pole to meet Trouble’s penguin friends and then to the Enchanted Forest to steal teeth from Nadeesha (10) and Chenelle (9) who take on the characters of the good, “boring” fairies.

The Tooth Fairy Queen, Ashwini who banishes Trouble from the Enchanted Forest has really enjoyed developing her character and is sure that the audience will love watching the mayhem that Trouble creates when she leaves the forest. The wizard, Saeran (9) and the Jaguar, Seniya (9) indulge in some make-believe fighting on stage as they are join the two sisters Shalini and Sonali, played by Anika (10) and Janithi (11) on their hunt for Trouble. Together with the Penguins, Nitish and Sulaiman, some friendly butterflies – Tashi (10), Aamina (6) and Raiqa (6) and a wise Teddy Bear, Imad (9).

Their creativity and imagination have been put together by Neluka to come up with a lovely story that has been developed to suit their wishes for the characters they want to play. These actors will dance and act for you as they bring alive on stage the magic of the Enchanted Forest, an unforgettable experience for both kids and adults. Kalana and Avani say, “Please come and enjoy the fun we are having on stage!”  
Trouble in Tooth Fairyland will be performed on 11th and 12th December at 7pm at the Punchi Theatre, Borella.
