Tinie Tempah is NOT his real name!

Tinie’s actual name is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu Junior. What a mouth full!

His middle name means “God is great” in the Nigerian Igbo language.  Tinie was quoted as saying that he is very proud of his name even though it’s tough to say!

 

Tinie Tempah got his rap pseudonym in his Year 8 citizenship class!

“I was flicking through a thesaurus, daydreaming and thinking what I could have as a name. I didn’t get very far — I only got up to ‘A’. I saw ‘angry’ and beneath it, the word ‘temper’ stood out but I was aware that might sound a bit aggressive, a bit too much, so I randomly stuck ‘tiny’ at the front. By playtime I was Tinie Tempah and that’s what I’ve been called ever since,” exclaimed Tinie Tempah.

 

 

Prince William is a big fan of his!

Tinie met Prince William and Kate Middleton at a BBC Radio Interview and was in awe of the Royals.  He described both as very approachable and simple.

“He put his hand on my shoulder and I cringed. I was so sweaty, like eurgggh! He made a little joke about my trousers being so low, saying he thought they were going to fall off halfway through my performance and said he loves going to festivals but he goes incognito,” revealed Tinie.

 

His dream girl will have well manicured hands!

Tinie admits to having his fair share of experience with women, and he says that he has learnt a lot. His dream girl will be confident and have a great sense of humour and an even better sense of style! He likes girls that take pride in their appearance; he insists that they should have beautiful hair and their ‘nails done nice’.

 

 

He has celebrity crush… on a number of females!

The list seems to be endless. Tinie says his crushes include: Jameela Jamil, Rihanna, Freida Pinto, Zoe Saldana, Eva Mendes, and most of all he has a huge crush on Kim Kardashian. He may have some stiff competition there from Kayne West!

 

His biggest musical guilty pleasure: JUSTIN BIEBER!

“My most embarrassing record buy: Justin Bieber – ‘My World.’ I love him,” says Tinie.

 

 

He was crowned the best dress male of 2012 by GQ!

The incredibly sought after title of the GQ “best dressed male of 2012” was won by Tinie Tempah, making him a style icon. His signature look; a pair of thick rimmed Ray-Ban glasses which give his outfits the cool nerd look.

 

Tinie has his own fashion brand

Tinie started a fashion brand known as ‘Disturbing London’ and his debut collection launched at the famous department store, Selfridges in London in 2012.

“I love clothes and this brand expresses my style of street-cool culture mixed with high-end fashion,” says Tinie.
 

 

He performed at the Olympics in the summer of 2012 in London and played to 770 million viewers worldwide

On 12 August, Tempah performed at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. His appearance at London's Olympic Stadium included his performance of "Written in the Stars" alongside Jessie J and Taio Cruz.

 

He is Britain’s most successful rapper

Tinie Tempah became the first British rapper to reach platinum sales status with a debut single for Written in the Stars. The video alone has about 100 million views on Youtube!
