This week we feature something a little different – dessert cakes in jars made by The Sweet Tooth. These cute and tasty treats are made by Shahz Feroze Noon who has been baking over the years as hobby and says this is the first time she decided to venture into baking and creating treats for others outside her family. She knew she wanted to create delicious desserts but wanted them to be a little different thus the idea of creating them in a jar using different types of topping and crumbled cake.

Taste and variety – 4 stars & Value for money – 5 stars

The Sweet Tooth has a number of goodies to choose from and we tried out Scarlett (Rs 300), the name alone implies that it’s red velvet cake layered with whipped cream as well as cream cheese frosting  and nougat. This was one of the tastiest of the four desserts we tried. The cake was soft, airy and fresh and had a delicious flavour to it. Another among the desserts that were fabulous was the Black Forest (Rs 300). It is essentially a black forest gateaux with layers of whipped cream topping, chocolate shavings and cherry sauce. It was really chocolaty and the cherry sauce with its hint of tartness gave this dessert the perfect balance of flavours. The Sweet Tooth’s English Trifle (Rs 300) had layers of cake with jelly, custard and topped with strawberries. The custard tasted a little artificial but the cake was lovely. Rainbow (Rs 300) was another among the cake jars with custard in it which wasn’t quite to my liking however it was extremely attractive with the layers of coloured cake sprinkles on top.

Other details

The Sweet Tooth also has a range of brownie jars and berry and brownie jars for Rs 350 each. All the jars come with a little name tag and a plastic spoon. I felt they tasted best upon being refrigerated and then kept out for a few minutes before indulging.

If you do follow The Sweet Tooth on Facebook you will notice that the line up of goodies changes every Monday.

Important

Shahz recommends that personalised orders of not less than 10 jars should be placed three to four days in advance, while orders for 25 jars and above will require a week to 10 days notice.
