The Style Files: The Best Dressed List - May

Every month we do a roundup of events that played host to some of the most sartorially savvy, polished, eclectic, and stylish of dressers. In April these people impressed with their style, their poise, their ability to pull a unique look together and were the most soigne of the soigne for the month.

June 3rd - CFW designer night

Ramona

Cocktails and events are always riddled with dresses, so when we see glamorous shorts and a top, we're always refreshingly surprised. A fabulous brand ambassador for both her stylish, simple and chic brands EXALT and Linen & Life, Ramona looks stunning in this white on white ensemble. She knows her body and understands that her petite frame is perfect for shorts.  Leave it to fashion girl Ramona to dazzle us with an simple, on trend look. Her spot-on minimal styling ensures that the exquisite cut and fit of her outfit is the focal point. Her limited edition Prada clutch doesn’t hurt either!

This color is impeccable against her skin and the shape and style flatters without being obvious. We also love how she chose to carry the bold pink Miu Miu matalesse clutch  and a turquoise ring with a bright dress. This is colour blocking at its best.

June 3rd - New Lux star collection

Ramani

This dress is attention-getting, but in exactly the right way.We love the stripes and volume on top that tapers down into flattering black.. The sleek silhouette makes her look sophisticated and kudos on the fashion forward shoes.

Hirunika

This rising political star could have played it safe and worn a simpler sari, but we're glad she didn't. Her hot pink and black ensemble stood out on the red carpet. We love the clashing prints, pop of colour and the interesting neckline of her jacket. The sophisticated updo helped take this look to the next level.

May 19th - Kia Grand carnival

Teruni

Black jumpsuits are quickly rivaling little black dresses on the cocktail circuit. They are just as chic and might even be more comfortable. Teruni’s is perfection. The flared leg, cinched waist and draped V neck add just the right amount of visual interest and her simple accessories and pop of red lip make it fashion forward.

May 27th - Farewell dinner for the Japanese Ambassador

Soraya

This dress makes Soraya look tall and lean and the asymmetrical gathering helps to push this ensemble into fashion-forward territory. Simple silhouettes are often the chicest and when paired with minimal accessories and soft make up elevates a look to pure sophistication.

May 29th - 80th birthday of  Milina Sumathipala

Sujeewa

This is a simple, sophisticated and elegant look that Sujeewa looks lovely in. Her Valentino rockstud clutch adds a touch of modern fashion to the ensemble and shows us dressing for more serious occasions doesn't mean sacrificing style.
