The Style Files: The Best Dressed List - April 2015
Every month we do a roundup of events that played host to some of the most sartorially savvy, polished, eclectic, and stylish of dressers. In April these people impressed with their style, their poise, their ability to pull a unique look together and were the most soigne of the soigne for the month.
Sangeetha at the premiere of Sinhawa Atharin
She looks like an Asian princess at the Sinhawa Atharin premiere. The gold embellishment on magenta is heavy, but the soft, elegant silhouette balances it out nicely. And the colours are divine on her skin tone.
Linda at the Dawn silent auction
Few things rival a little black dresses on the cocktail circuit. They are chic and though Lindas dress could have been just another LBD, the interesting bell sleeves add a thoughtful visual element. We also like th elength of her hemline. Wearing an LBD is always a safe option, but playing with shape and silhouette is an easy way to spice it up. And accessories can take a dress from expected to extraordinary.
Mandy at the launch of Jaffna Boy
This is minimalism at it's best. The crisp look is fresh and even edgy thanks to the addition of an interesting cuff. The proportions are perfect for a standout look. Her top is well-balanced with her wide-leg pants, ensuring her ensemble doesn't skew too sexy.
Horse racing in Nuwara Eliya
Purni
She wowed in an eye-catching floral jacket to fete the races in Nuwara Eliya. We love that she didn’t play it safe and added more visual interest with a floral embellished hat which helped take this look to the next level. Her minimal makeup, black pumps and sophisticated LV clutch help to ground a fabulous look.
Deepthika
This gorgeous print works beautifully with her hat, its feathers adding to that brilliantly, breaking up the floral pattern and creating one stunning ensemble. She looks like a breath of spring. The lady Dior adds a nice touch too!
Deborah and Derrick
Deborah manages to make this orange hue look both fun and sophisticated. Her black accessories and sleek hair keep things simple to ensure that she's wearing the outfit -- not the other way around.
Derrick oozes, style, charisma and his suit is classic, smart, modern and perfect for a day at the races.
Champa at the launch of Touché spring
That colour is great on her and not only does it make her pop in a sea of black outfits, but the simple accessories make it really shine. The red lips tie it all together beautifully.
