The alignment of geometrics have taken centre stage in the fashion industry with designers such as Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs making it a prominent look for spring summer 2013, even though it was quite popular in the 60s.

Michael Kors showcased a geometric glamour last year with graphic stripes and optical checks while exemplifying sharp tailoring in trim spring coats and leggy suits.

The fashion house Louis Vuitton caught everyone’s attention with the geometric grace of the checkerboard-like print. It was stated that the designer for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs’s sartorial voyage that was showcased was more of a state of mind, and a graphic fantasy of the designer, considering the manner in which the designer showcased his designs with models descending from escalators, where the audience was transcended to a geometric haze.

The concept of Marc Jacob’s design was pretty straightforward, where the Damier print was adopted and expanded or shrunk. This print was further enlarged to look like colour blocks.

This design however is most suited for the long and lean silhouette since such body structure helps to accentuate the geometric aspect of the style.

When highlighting this geometric looks, the accessories should be kept minimal with plain belts and shoes that highlight the geometric design and not create an optical disaster that is not glamorous at all.
