Dishnira, 19, describes her style persona as a mix between trendy and classic. “I don’t think I’ve quite fully discovered my personal style yet to define it with certainty. I’m still experimenting with pieces and trends but it’s safe to say my signature style is a hybrid between classic and trendy,” she explained.

On Street Style, Dishnira explains a few of a classic looks and talks about her ‘go-to’ look and reveals a few style hacks she’s learnt over the years.

Look 1 : Black Crop Top + Wide Legged White pants with Crochet Detailing

This is a perfect everyday casual look. I would wear this just to run daily errands and maybe meet friends for lunch. The wide legged pants are so comfortable and I love the embroidery detailing on it! Because they’re quite loose fitting and flared, I paired it with a tighter fitting crop top to still keep the feminine look and to avoid it looking boxy.

Look 2 : Summer Dress + Sandals

A casual / flirty look for everyday wear, which you can either dress up or dress down by accessorizing it. Here, I wore it for Sunday brunch and I’ve paired it with a pair of nude sandals and kept everything else subtle (in nude and gold tones). I feel like the nude accessories in this look (the bag and the sandals) really compliment the dress and complete the whole look as oppose to black, because a black bag would grab more attention. Whereas in this case, the dress grabs the attention because it’s such a bright colour and there isn’t anything else contrasting. Because the neckline of the dress was so bare I added a rustic feathery statement necklace and kept all the other jewellery (bracelet and rings) in the same rustic gold.

Look 3 : Backless Bodysuit + Jeans with Lace-Up Heels

This is a bit of a dressy evening outfit you can easily wear for date night. Here, I have paired the white backless bodysuit with a pair of high-waist jeans because I feel like this helps to accentuate the waistline. Too much skin can sometimes look trashy instead of classy, so the jeans assist in playing down the bodysuit and by adding the heels it makes it a perfect night outfit. I’ve also added a darker burgundy clutch bag in the same colour family as the shoes to bring the whole look together.

· Style Role Model : My mom! I have always looked up to her and adored her style! In fact, I sometimes steal her pieces if I really like them. (The white pants in the first outfit are actually her pants!)

· Favourite Colours to Pair : BLACK, WHITE AND DENIM! Plus, these last couple of months it has been burgundy! Everything I’ve acquired recently has been in these dark rich shades of red including those gorgeous lace-up heels featured in the last look.

· Go To Outfit : A COMFY DRESS AND SANDALS / SNEAKERS. I always find myself reaching for a dress in the morning when I need to get dressed in a rush and can’t quite decide what to wear. And I will almost always pair this with flats (so either sandals or a pair of sneakers depending on how dressy I need to look). And then I accessorize with maybe a necklace, bracelet and a couple of rings!  This look can easily be transformed into a night outfit by merely just switching out the shoes for a pair of heels and adding a smaller clutch bag.

Style Must Have’s

- A good pair of DENIM JEANS (preferably dark washed)

- A pair of CLASSIC NUDE HEELS
- A crisp WHITE BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT
- BLACK SKINNY TOP / CROP TOP  (like the one I’m wearing in my first look)
- And a good pair of SHADES
- A pair of WHITE SNEAKERS (Converse in my case)
- And finally, A GO-TO BAG! My MK tote bag is mine and I love it!

Style Hacks

To create a look, always start with a basic piece and then you can build on top of it. If you feel over whelmed, always strip it down to the basics and work from there.

And don’t forget to ACCESSORIZE! ALWAYS. It makes a major difference! Throw on some rings and a necklace for example and your outfit is complete!

I always pair a flared top with a more form-fitting bottom like maybe a pencil skirt or skinny pants and it goes vice versa because I feel that this flatters my figure most.
