‘Blowhards: Braggarts, Boasters & Bastards' performed at the British Council!

The British Council and Mind Adventures Theatre Company present the second play in Mind Adventures’ year as Artists in Residence.

Written and directed by Arun Welandawe-Prematilleke, (Paraya, Only Soldiers), ‘Blowhards’ consists of three satirical 20-minute plays that focus on social issues. Each of the plays takes a humourous view on Colombo society at large and their responses and actions towards a particular subject.

‘Tea/Coffee’ looks at armchair activism, ‘Eco-Warriors’ on environmental issues and ‘The Corn’ on political discourse within a family. All three look at social conventions and our own self-image and how they form our opinions and the stances we take on topical issues, the production harpoons the facile and facetious in us all.

‘Blowhards’ stars Tracy Holsinger, Ruvin De Silva, Ryan Holsinger, Pia Hatch, Thanuja Jayawardene, Leah Bazalgette and Brandon Ingram, and will run from Thursday, the 23rd of July until the 31st of July, at 8pm.

The show will run at The British Council Library, in keeping with their new partnership with Mind Adventures.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 1000 and it is recommended that you buy yours early as seating is limited. Tickets are available on Takas.lk or at The British Council Library, Tuesday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm or Saturday and Sunday, 9am - 4pm.
