Scrumptious sandwiches at LeeSH Sandwich Bar

Nugegoda is fast becoming a place where you can pick up pretty much anything and when it comes to eateries there are so many options too and among the many on offer is LeeSH Sandwich Bar. This cosy little eatery, located on Highlevel Road in Nugegoda, which first opened its doors on December 1, 2011, is one neat place to delve into some really delectable and fresh cold sandwiches, submarines, burgers, wraps, Panini and hotdogs as well as delicious homemade iced coffee and fresh juices – none of which will leave a dent in your wallet – which is always a plus these days!

LeeSH Sandwich Bar is owned by the delightful couple, Linda Wong Manamperige and Lakshan Manamperige. Upon spending a number of years in Japan, (where they both studied and worked), this hard working couple picked up the skills they needed to open up an eatery of their own on their return to Sri Lanka. When they came back to Sri Lanka and to Nugegoda, they realised that even though there were a number of food related options in this bustling city, there was no proper sandwich bar where fresh sandwiches were made right in front of you. So they set about gathering all they needed to fill this void and LeeSH Sandwich Bar was born.

Linda and Lakshan use fresh ingredients, which is evident when you bite into their food, while they also experimented and created their very own signature mayonnaise. For anyone interested, they do not use Monosodium Glutamate (MSG).  LeeSH also has a mini-mart within the premises where you can pick up some essentials for your household.

Linda explains that their most popular are their burgers and cold sandwiches. Their Chicken and Cheese Burger is absolutely delicious. With a slight crunch and the perfect slathering of butter on the bun to the melted cheese and juicy meat patty – it is definitely one of my favourites at LeeSH. If you like hotdogs then go for their Chicken Bacon Wrap Hotdog. It was a little dry for my liking on the day, but tasted good.
I also really loved their simple but tasty, Cheese and Tomato Panini which is toasted just right with perfectly melted cheese oozing out, it is a filling and delicious option for lunch or even dinner. LeeSH also creates a juicy and crunchy coleslaw, which will compliment any of their bready goodies. To wash all this down or quench your thirst on a warm day, their Iced Coffee is perfect while Linda also whips up a yummy Spicy Lime Juice (the fresh juices vary so ask them what they have on offer for the day).

If you really feel like stuffing yourself, check with Linda and Lakshan about their meal combos. The prices range from Rs 350 to 500. For those of you heading home after work and want to pick up a quick bite, this is the ideal place. The prices are reasonable and the place is clean while the food is tasty, hands down.
