Dancesport returns for its 20th year this weekend!
With comparatively humble beginnings and limited participants, the now largely successful annual International Ballroom and Latin American Dance Championship, appropriately themed this year as “A Celebration of Dance”, provides latin and ballroom dancers the platform to showcase their talents and compete shoulder to shoulder with fellow international participants. The event has continually raised the bar, with an ever-increasing number of participants proving their mettle and talent.

The competition this year includes more than 50 local and international participants from all over the world. The dancers of all ages are set to compete in two main segments, which are Ballroom and Latin American. Within each segment will be the 10 categories, namely – Junior Under 13, Junior Under 16, Senior, Pre Beginner, Beginner, Novice A & B, Pre Amateur, Rising Star and Amateur. A panel of 8 - all licensed Adjudicators of World Dance Council - from Australia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Malaysia, Taiwan & Thailand will judge the contestants.
This years event will also feature phenomenal performances by World Show Dance Championships runners up from Switzerland, Sven Ninnemann and Nina Uszkureit. Sven and Nina will also be conducting a workshop for the Dancesport participants, offering them valuable advice and tips on supplementing their performance. The audience will no doubt be awed and won over by the top notch performances.
