The Infant Section of Colombo International School will stage their annual production on the 6th and 7th of June 2013 at the School Auditorium.

This year the students will bring alive the popular childhood tale by Roald Dhal,‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. While preserving the original plot of the play it has been transformed in to a musical that would be adaptable to younger kids.

The play consists of music from famous Broadway musicals like Annie and Hairspray as well as DreamWorks musicals such as the Muppets and the chipmunks. The dance tracks are mostly 60’s and 70’s hits and blend well with the original music from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory (1960’s musical).

The students have simply enjoyed staging this exciting play and have contributed actively with drama, dance and music. The Oompa Loompas with witty humor, The lollypop Inventors with their incredibly scrumptious inventions, the talking squirrels with their precarious plans and of course the buzzing bees with their super sensitive antennas make the play a unique and unforgettable experience.

The cast consists of around 250 performers between ages  6 and 7.The Play is directed by Mrs Amanda Rajesh, Choreographed by Miss Shanika Weerasinghe and musically directed by Mrs Chrishanthi Anthony. The production is highlighted with fabulous costumes from the 60’s, a delectable stage set and lighting effects making it a truly scrumdiddlyumptios adventure!
