2017 kicked off in style and the event calendar is already getting ticked. With the Fairway Galle Literary Festival happening in Galle itself, we know many of our readers will be heading south this weekend. Featured below are a few other events which you could drop in this weekend. 

Movie - Underworld: Blood Wars 

2017 creeps in with the search for justice in the saga of the Underworld Series. Most movie goers will recall the daring and beautiful Selene (Kate Beckinsale) in the Underworld saga leading up to this edge-of-the-seat film. 

Vampire death dealer Selene continues her struggle against the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her, with both sides trying to use the blood of her and her daughter to become Corvinus Strain hybrids. After hiding her daughter, Selene, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), attempt to end the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means Selene has to make the ultimate sacrifice. 

The main cast also includes Theo James, Tobias Menzies, Lara Pulver, Peter Andersson, Clementine Nicholson, Bradley James and Charles Dance. 

“Underworld: Blood Wars” will be screened at Majestic Cineplex during the following show times: 10:15AM, 1:15PM, 4:30PM and 7:30PM and Fri/Sat 10:30PM.

My Dream School - Good Market day aims at raising funds to support kids in Vilavaddavan Vinayakar Vidyalaya, Batticaloa. The project will fund and support in developing the infrastructure of the school including roof renovation, painting and washrooms renovation.

Cockerel Fringe Festival, Galle is a call for all young writers, amateur poets and artists to showcase their talents, mingle, network with other publishers, writers, literature enthusiasts.
