It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas and we know that you are busy ticking off items from the bucket list for 2016. Yet you could always go out and have a hangout session with your friends or family. Here’s what we got this week! 


Events (in Colombo) 

 

ICCB 2016 @ Hilton Colombo Residence: International Christmas Charity Bazaar 2016, Colombo’s biggest Christmas charity event will pull off this Sunday at the Hilton Colombo Residence with a variety of items for sale. The event is organised by local charities and the expat community of Sri Lanka to raise funds and donate to less fortunate individuals in Sri Lanka as well as in their respective countries. The event will be held from 10:00AM to 2:00PM and tickets will be available at PR Sri Lanka, 41, Horton Place, Colombo 07. 

 

Freddy @ Lionel Wendt: Freddy is a play that revolves around 6 actors playing 30+ roles. The latest production by Feroze Kamardeen starring Dominic Kellar, Gehan Blok, Dino Corera, Mohamed Adamaly, Daminda Wijyaratne and Sean Amarasekara. Freddy will be stage from November 24th - 27th at the Lionel Wendt theatre. 

 

 

An evening with Engelbert Humperdinck @ SLECC: Engelbert Humperdinck, world renowned English pop singer known as ‘one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers around’ will perform on November 27 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre. 

Tickets are priced ar Rs. 15,000 (VIP) Rs. 7500 (Gold), Rs. 5000 (Silver). 

 

The Closet @ Aura Café Colombo: Aura Café and elké are excited to announce the third instalment of THE CLOSET - Colombo's home-grown clothing and accessories market. This time, a two day event will be hosted with different designers showcasing on both days. 

The event starts on November 26 at 3:00PM and will continue till November 27. 

 

Colombo Hippie Market @ BMICH: The Colombo Hippie Market is back again after a rather long break with more amazing Hippie Specials, art, music, creative, niche & environmentally friendly products, people and experiences that exclusively unfold within this spectacular vibe. 

The event will take place at the BMICH premises from 10:00AM - 9:00PM. 

 

The Paradox Revisited @ The Floor by O!: Don't miss out on Stigmata's next monstrous concert this Sunday at the Floor By O!. The Metal Titans will celebrate one year of their most recent album ‘The Ascetic Paradox’, performing it in its entirety along with all their epic anthems covering their discography. 

The event will take place from 5:00PM - 9:00PM. 


Events (out of Colombo) 

 

Snorkelling with Rainbow fish @ Pigeon Island National Park: Pigeon Island is one of the two marine national parks in Sri Lanka situated about 3 km from Nilaveli Beach which contains some of the best coral reefs in the island. A two day journey packed with camping, boat rides, snorkelling and other fun activities is open for all adventurous individuals out there.

Movies 

 

Dear Zindagi 

The wait is finally over for all SRK fans with the release of his latest movie ‘Dear Zindagi’. ‘Dear Zindagi’ is a comedy drama film directed by Gauri Shinde and produced by Gauri Khan, Karan Johar and Gauri Shinde under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions and Hope Productions respectively. 

The story revolves around Kaira, a budding cinematographer (played by Alia Bhatt) in search of a perfect life. Her encounter with Jug (SRK), an unconventional thinker, helps her gain a new perspective on life. She discovers that happiness is all about finding comfort in life's imperfections. 

It stars an ensemble cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ira Dubey, Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar and Angad Bedi. 

The movie will be released on November 25. 

 

Fantastic Beasts 

The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds. ‘Fantastic Beasts’ is directed by David Yates and is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. 

A premiere of ‘Fantastic Beasts’ will take place at the Empire Cineplex on November 25 at 1:00PM.
