Our first male feature in our column, Ovindu was my first pick because he’s a bit of a perfectionist and puts a lot of effort into his outfit wherever he’s going; he is always perfectly dressed for the occasion!

He states that his sense of style leans more towards brown and as a result anything that goes in line with brown has become his signature style. “I guess I would most likely pair a white shirt and a beige or blue trouser with brown shoes, belt and watch”.

This week, Ovindu tells us what made him care about style and gives us a glimpse into his idea of what makes an outfit ‘good’.

Look 1 : Dark Blue Patterned Shirt with Grandad Collar + Beige Shorts + Pale Brown Shoes

This is my favourite weekend outfit up to date. I often gear up with this on evenings, dark blue is one of my favourite colours and patterned designs always catch my eye. I enjoy seeing myself in that and beige shorts. And a pair of brown shoes always enhances that vibe.

Look 2 : Blue Chambray Shirt + Beige or Blue Trouser/Shorts + Vintage Sunglasses

This chambray shirt is one of my most favourite shirts, specifically cause of the grandad collar once again and the material. I like how they have matched the colour of the material with the buttons (brown). I wear this with both trousers and shorts, depending on which day of the week it is. Some people think I’m Indian if I’m wearing this, and it’s quite amusing.

Look  3 : White Shirt with Check Lines + Blue Trouser + Brown Accessories

As I mentioned previously, this has become my signature style. I’m a lover of shirts with button-down collars. Blue trousers contrast well with the shirt and the belt and also this would blend in perfectly with a beige coloured trouser too. This outfit is a confidence booster for me so I tend to wear this mostly when attending work based tasks.

Style Role Model : If I come across an attractive and classy outfit I would follow it regardless of its origin. Other than that frankly I don’t have a specific style role model. Most of my outfits are based on my personal tastes.

Favourite colours to pair? Beige with dark blue/black and blue with white.

Go To Outfit? Grandad collar and shorts with shoes! Shorts with shoes always makes me feel stylish and light.

Style must have’s?

- Watch
- Belt
- Shoes
- Tucked –in shirt (with trousers)

Style Hack?

Personally I didn’t pay much attention to my style until a few years back. But over the years what I have experienced is that some people are afraid to make a statement out of what they are wearing simply because they THINK their brands are seemingly not recognized or not that good.

My perception is that you don’t need ‘a good brand’ to become stylish. It’s just a misconception that has blindfolded our minds.

It doesn’t matter at all which brand you are wearing, as long as you have matched your colours perfectly according to the occasion.

If you have a clear idea about your body type it’s just a matter of picking the right colours, because at the end of the day nobody will walk upto you and ask what the brand is if you have perfectly dressed up for the occasion.

Always try to pick clothes that stand out of the rest, don’t just buy what everyone else has.

Take a leap and turn ‘Everyone Except You’ into ‘NOBODY Except You.’
