2016 has been a great year for heavy metal around the world, from Metallica releasing their new record 'Hardwired... to Self Destruct' which was launched last week and reaching number 1 in a staggering 57 countries, Top 3 in 75 countries and Top 5 in 105 countries; a milestone of gargantuan proportions that even the biggest pop sensations and most commercial artists in the world can only dream of, to the 'must see' concerts, festivals and sold out tour packages worldwide from Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Guns 'N Rose's, AC/DC, Slipknot and Disturbed to name a few... make no mistake heavy metal is conquering the globe once again.
2016 has been a fantastic year for our own Lankan heavyweights Stigmata from performing a series of select high profile concerts (Stigmata Live at Shore By O, the 10 Year Anniversary of their sophomore album Silent Chaos Serpentine to a headlining special guest performance at the TNL Onstage Finals to a full house at the Viharamahadevi Amphitheatre) to receiving another notable distinction of being featured on the BBC's Daily Arts Show (with 56 million listeners worldwide) to Stigmata's skinsman Roshan Taraka Senewiratne making history being endorsed by International giant Dixon Drums; the first Sri Lankan based drummer to receive such an honor. The band was recently interviewed and featured on Murder Dog International, a leading publication in the US which has featured such stars as Dr.Dre, Faith No More, Jay Z, 50 Cent etc.
Stigmata continues to break boundaries, battle against all odds, destroy hurdles and make Sri Lanka proud while doing what they do best.
The Ascetic Paradox is a concept album; every song relating a piece of the overall puzzle, where the sonic landscapes are beautifully and perfectly carved with the execution of jaw dropping musical prowess and melodic wizardry matched with the powerfully arresting themes and poetic lyrics taking the listener on a unique journey.

The band will take to the stage to dazzle and mesmerize what will surely be a full house performing 4 albums worth of material; all of the classics interlaced with the new anthems off The Ascetic Paradox.
