Music lovers are in for a treat when the ever-popular Clifford Richards takes to the stage on Sunday, September 3, at the Main Ballroom, Galadari Hotel at 7 pm. This is just one of the many shows after numerous very successful ones by him to packed audiences who enjoy listening to ‘golden oldies.’
Indeed Clifford Ricahrds needs no introduction and is what one may call a ‘Jack of Many Trades.’
A well-known personality in show business, Clifford is an Entertainer, Compere, Singer, News Anchor, Television Presenter, Dubbing/Voicing Artiste and Certified Yoga Teacher with 30 years in the entertainment industry. We had a brief chat with him on his latest show.
Q Briefly describe the show.
My show entitled DATE NIGHT WITH CLIFFORD RICHARDS FEATURING BLACK will highlight my musical journey where I will be singing some of your favourite songs.
Q What is the repertoire at the show?
I will be singing songs by well-known artistes such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Jim Reeves, Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond and many others. There will also be Sinhala songs and the baila. Some of the songs I am singing are “Blue Suede Shoes’ ‘ The Last Waltze’ and one of my originals ‘ I love Sri Lanka.’
Q Who will be backing you?
This will be by the band ‘ Black’ and in addition to singing along the audience will also be able to dance to some of their favourite tunes.
Q Any additional information about the show?
The audience will also be able to listen to some of my own songs and are in for a lot of surprises and prizes! It will be a fun-filled evening for the whole family. Popular band ‘ Black’ will also be in action.
