CFW Resort is back!

Since its inception in 2012, Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) Resort is back for its fourth edition this October.

Resort wear has, overtime, grown into a multibillion dollar cash cow in the fashion industry.  With the demand for year – round resort wear, CFW Resort is assembled with aim of pushing resort wear as a high growth category and to encourage local designers to tap into this emerging market.

CFW Resort will commence on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October 2015 in Galle with the iconic Galle Fort serving as the centre for a series of fashion – themed activities. Ten emerging designers will present their collections at Jetwing Lighthouse on the 1st of October and twelve local designers and five international designers will present their latest resort wear collections on the 2nd and 3rd at the Galle Fort.
Local designers such as Ramona Oshini, INDI by Indeevari Yapa Abeywardena, CHARINI, U by Upeksha Hager, G by Gihan Ediriweera, KOCA, Hameedia, Arial, KASUN and Stefel by Peronie, The Old Railway, Yasisurie and Conscience will be joined together by several international designers such as Harare (USA), Lars Andersson (USA), Jason and Anshu (India) and Dan Single (Australia) to showcase their collections at CFW Resort 2016.

As CFW creates new avenues for designers to constantly grow, mature and gain success and reputation, President of CFW, Ajai V. Singh had this to say about the upcoming event, “At CFW, we look to continuously innovate in order to make a global impact for Sri Lanka Fashion.

In the run up to CFW Resort 2016, preparations are well under way and we are covering a lot of ground”. Presented by HSBC and hosted by Jetwing Hotels, CFW will also include a multitude of activities such as Fashion+Food Galle Fort, with culinary partners presenting special all – day, dessert and beverages menus from 27th September to 4th October 2015. CFW Knowledge Workshops will conduct a workshop on fashion photography dubbed ‘Phantasmagoria’ by celebrity photographer Jatin Kampani on 2nd October 2015 at 11.00 am at the Galle Room, Jetwing Lighthouse. CFW will also include ‘Decked Out’, a resort-chic themed after party to mark the end of the season.

For the first time ever, CFW will also introduce CFW Frame – two exhibitions (Cityscapes and Forts by Branka Ridiki and Black and White Portraits by Dominic Sansoni) on the 2nd and 3rd October at Villa Landesi – and CFW Retail Walk, where select stores within the fort will offer visitors an enthralling shopping experience during the week of the shows.

As the most recognized fashion platform in Sri Lanka CFW Resort 2016 promises a week of entertainment, fashion and unique designs by some of the best local and international designers.
