The Colombo Courtyard’s ‘Amber Spa’ offers a foray of spa treatments ranging from massages to body treatments. Established in November 2013, the spa aims to provide the best experience to their clientele. They employ extremely qualified therapists from Bali with 8 – 10 years of experience and import the best quality oils and herbs from Bali as well.

I was invited to try out one of the signature treatments; the ‘Exotic Warm Stone Massage’ of 85 minutes. The room had a great ambience with aromatic scents, dim lighting and mellow music. I was given a complimentary cup of herbal ginger and lemon tea before and after my massage. My therapist was well trained; she knew exactly what to do and how to do it. The pressure exerted was just the right amount and the long strokes and light kneading was just enough to lull me into my comfort zone.

The Basaltic warm stones are definitely an experience. Initially, it took a while for me to get used to the warm stones on my skin but after a few strokes, the warmth was comforting and welcoming. I could feel my muscles reacting and relaxing under the hands of my therapist. The newest additions to the spa are the Couples' Treatment and the Jet Lag Recovery Treatment. A customer favourite however, is the Traditional Balinese Massage of 55/85 minutes in which relaxing and acupressure techniques are used to improve circulation and pain relief. 

The spa also offers a ‘Pregnancy’ massage to help decrease back pain and sciatic nerve pain. The massage is done with great sensitivity by experienced therapists.

The response from their clientele shows 100% positive feedback, all commending the spa’s great service and atmosphere. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the ambience is calming and the treatments are of great value.
