Venue - Alliance Française de Colombo, 11, Barnes Place, Colombo 11. The Alliance Française de Colombo hosts the exhibition “Alternative Reality” by the artist Dilip Susruta Samarasinghe which will be launched on the 10th of January 2024.

Several years ago, Dilip Susruta Samarasinghe was inspired to create an imaginary, surrealistic and parallel world with distinctive fauna, flora and topography.

Over time, the concept was refined to become the “Alternative Reality”, an exhibition of 24 drawings, which is to be held from the 10th to the 21st of January 2024 at the Alliance Française de Colombo.

The medium the artist used was pen and ink because of the precision of that medium that permits considerable details to be included in the drawings. He has used a wide range of pens which include fine-liners, but also older instruments such as the dip pen and stylo-graphique pens. In addition, four colour paintings have been done with a recently introduced pen that uses acrylic ink.
