If you're strictly not a morning person, and hates waking up to be a part of the daily routine hustle, you probably make a few of these deadly mistakes in the process of getting ready for either school or work.

1. Waking up in a hurry as if there's no tomorrow.

"Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise". Heard that, been there but have you really done that? Insomnia or sleeping in late gives your body inadequate rest and as a result hurrying your morning routine is lethal for those who believe in healthy living. Your body needs time to recover from the stress that you go through mentally and physically. Hence give it some rest!

2. Drinking tea instead of a glass of water.

Bedtime tea is almost a ritual in Sri Lanka and a morning without tea is like lunch without dessert to most. Nevertheless the toxins in your body are washed away completely if you have a good glass of water as soon as you wake up. It is an ideal remedy for those suffering from constipation as well. If you want a fresh start, go for water, and avoid tea!

3. Skipping breakfast because you're on a diet.

Mostly school going children are considered champions at skipping breakfast. In addition this routine could be witnessed in those who have to be at work earlier than the others. This is absolutely fatal especially for your metabolism. If you're frequently prone to illnesses, skipping breakfast might be a primary factory for the weakening of the immune system. Strictly dieting? Not an excuse for you to skip breakfast!

4. Exercise - zilch.

Ever wondered why you keep getting out of shape even after sticking to a strict diet, taking all sorts of medication? Your body is crying for exercise which is lacking in our culture. Not many manage to execute a 30 minute warm up in the rush of finding your kids' socks, packing up their lunch in the meantime getting dressed for work. However due to this, a visible belly, obesity and other dietary conditions may occur if you fail to activate a strong metabolism. If your work ethic requires you to sit at one spot moving the same muscles daily, be very cautious as your body may wind down like an unused vehicle. Get up and warm up!

5. Coffee kick starts the morning.

Too much of anything is bad for your system. Caffeine on an empty stomach is the worst as it weakens your immune system and harms the digestive system causing severe constipation especially if you are an addict. Stay away from coffee, at least in the morning. It might engulf you!

6. Waking up with a frown on your face.

Of course mornings are definitely not fun, but you got to get through it since that's how it works. Waking up cursing your boss, your job or whatever the cause may be would not help you get through your day with ease. If you're not the best person for positivity, let something drive you. As an example think of what you'd do with the wage you receive at the end of the month and create a target plan to achieve it. It is always great to be motivated in the morning and you might be able to make someone else smile and do better!

7. Last minute preparation.

Leave yesterday's work for the next morning is probably the worst habit to have amidst one's hurried schedule. If you do your ironing, polishing and cleaning which could have been completed the night before the following morning, stress is inevitable. This is dangerous as your daily proceedings are heavily influenced by your morning plan. As a result you may forget important documents and tasks which may get you into more trouble thus creating unwanted hassle. If morning fails, your day is most likely to end up terribly. To avoid this, plan ahead!

8. Rush hour road rage.

Unlike in other countries, driving within city limits during rush hour has tested our patience on a whole new level. It is understandable if your head is on fire and your breaks are your saving grace, but you need to keep in mind that everyone is in a constant hurry and they're just like you. As a remedy to avoid the morning madness, leave home early if necessary or else develop patience and concentration by listening to some soothing morning music throughout the drive. You will feel calm and collected thus allowing your day to be more successful and tolerable.
