Expressions 18 an art exhibition by  Professional Artist Jayantha Silva will  be held  at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery . We had a chat with him.

1. Can you please tell us about your upcoming exhibition?
My upcoming Exhibition will be held at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery from Friday the 2nd of May (Preview 6.30pm) to Saturday 3 rd and Sunday 4 th May 2025 (10am onwards).

2. What is the name of the exhibition and what is the reason  for giving this name?
The Exhibition is named “Expressions 18”. “Expressions” was the original name given to my very first Exhibition which was held also at the Lionel Wendt in the year 2003. The reason for it to be called “Expressions” was because my figurative art portraiture was all about expressions.

3. Can you tell us about the work you are exhibiting at this exhibition?
As always I’ll be exhibiting my pet subject ~ Figurative Art, although it’s the most difficult form of art for any artist. However I’ll be having a few landscapes of vintage Ceylon.

4. What do you  hope to achieve by this exhibition?

My achievement as a locally and international Renowned Artist is already achieved which I’m very proud of.

5. What inspires you to paint?
Anything and Everything inspires me to paint.

6. Finally how do you hope to continue your journey in art?
I hope to continue to my journey for the rest of life with the grace of God’s mercy of keeping me healthy physically and mentally with the self-confidence he has always given me.
