Chamber Music Society of Colombo Presents An Evening with the Classical Masters – May 7 at Lionel Wendt Hall

The Chamber Music Society of Colombo (CMSC) presents An Evening with the Masters, a concert celebrating the beauty of classical music. The performance will take place on May 7 at 7:30 PM at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, featuring a program of works by Mozart, J.S. Bach, J.C. Bach, and Haydn.

A highlight of the evening will be Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, showcasing Sulara Nánáyakkára, CMSC’s Principal Second Violinist, and guest violist Ilana McNamara as soloists. The program will also include Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto and works by J.C. Bach and Haydn.

This concert marks the inaugural annual performance in memory of Frances E. Jayasinhe and Herbert W. Peris, and is made possible through the generous support of Malinee Jayasinghe-Peris. The CMSC is honored to launch this special series, celebrating musical excellence.

Tickets are Rs. 7,500, Rs. 5,000, and Rs. 3,000, with free balcony seating available for music students under 21, reaffirming the CMSC’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
