After long hours of work, sometimes all you need is a good cup of tea and something sweet to call it a day.

Park Street Mews has teamed up with Teaeli, Sri Lanka’s first designer tea brand, to give their customers the perfect culinary delight to wrap up their day with their new 'Desserts and Tea' menu.

Curated by their pastry Chef of over four years, Chaminda, the desserts menu at Park Street has got bigger and better. Not only is Chef Chaminda brilliant at fusing flavours and colours together, he also excels in his presentation.

Introducing a new range of their famous home-made ice creams and baked delights, the new desserts menu has a variety that proves difficult to choose from!

We tried their Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ice Cream Cake with Salted Caramel Sauce at Rs. 550. It’s a well-known fact that their homemade ice cream is reputed to be one of the best around Colombo and this combination of flavours was one of our favourites.

The Passion Parfait with Lemon Mint Coults at Rs. 550 was a three layered parfait with distinct flavours that made the taste buds explode as the passion fruit and the lemon tang blended smoothly together.

Other items on the menu included Blueberry Souffle with Cheese Ice Cream at Rs. 575, Mascarpone Cheese Cake with Marsala Wine and Expresso at Rs. 550 and Sticky Date Pudding with Kithul Syrup and Curd Ice Cream at Rs. 525 among others.

Taking inspiration from the quote ‘wash it down with a good cup of tea’, Teaeli presented a flavoursome range of specially brewed tea to complement the desserts.

Teaeli is a brand which offers premium single estate Ceylon tea infused with a variety of ingredients to produce tea bursting with unique flavours.

Owner, Dushyantha De Silva took us through teas specially designed with real herbs, fruits, nuts, chocolate and spices to complement the desserts.

At this event, we tasted their Almond Truffle, Chili Chocolate, Passionfruit and Pineapple, Relax, Pink and the Golden Pekoe tea at Rs. 350 a pot. A rather exotic range of tea, we loved the aromas and flavours each tea evoked!

A personal favourite was the Pink tea, a blend of ripe strawberry and jasmine, which together gave a fruity after taste - perfect after a sweet dessert!

All in all, Park Street Mews’ new Desserts and Tea menu gives you the perfect excuse to indulge after a long day at work! With a range of tantalizing desserts that not only looks great but tastes amazing, and a choice of exotic tea flavours we can’t get enough of, the Desserts and Tea menu at Park Street Mews is a new addition you simply cannot miss out on!
