Vicky Donor catapulted this young actress into the limelight. Bollywood actor Yami Gautam, however, is no stranger to south cinema - in fact, she has already been seen in Kannada in Ullasa Utsaha with Ganesh, in Telugu in Nuvvila and in Malayalam with Prithviraj in the recently-released Hero.

Ask her about how she feels being part of the south industry and she says, "It feels great. I have never considered regional cinema as regional cinema because when you do an assignment, you can't do it thinking it doesn't cover the whole country so it can be taken for granted. It's equally important for me. The wish list I have definitely includes actors from the south as well."

As for what attracted her to the Prakash Raj-Radhamohan's Tamil-Telugu project with Sirish, she explains, "I think it's an honour to be part of such a prestigious project; the role was fantastic. I think it's very important for me as an actor to know whose going to direct the movie. I have a heard a lot about Radhamohan and the genre he comes from and it suits the kind of place I am looking for in regional cinema."

Post Vicky Donor, the Chandigarh girl's equity in Bollywood has also increased rapidly and the actress has been flooded with opportunities there. "I didn't know Vicky Donor would be such a huge success. I am now in talks with some really fantastic projects out here. But a great project doesn't happen all of a sudden, it takes time. And I am in no hurry as well," she says.

Yami has a wish list for Tamil cinema too reeling off names like Mani Ratnam, Santosh Sivan, Selvaraghavan, Shankar, Suriya and Vikram. "My father watched 7aum Arivu and really liked it. I would love to work with Suriya and Vikram," she says adding, "For me, a south project is no less than a Hindi project."
