Although their relationship was never officially confirmed, “California gurls” singer Katy Perry and John Mayer have split.
Rumours of a potential blossoming relationship arose earlier this month when the duo was spotted leaving Place restaurant together.
Both Mayer and Perry insisted that they were hanging out simply as "a work thing."
Sources are now confirming to Us Weekly that the pair have split and that the “Wide Awake” singer is “really upset about it.” Another source adds, “She is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt."
Us Weekly reports that the couple previously spent time together at a Beverly Hills pool “making out,” further fuelling speculations about a developing relationship.
Another source notes of Perry, whose divorce to British funnyman Russell Brand was recently finalized, "She doesn't want to get her heart broken again, but she feels a real connection and wants to see where things go.”
Mayer has previously linked to Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Jessica Simpson.
