Having taken over the directorial reins from Kabeer Kaushik half way through the film Hum Tum Aur Ghost, Arshad Warsi has decided to take charge of an entire project. The actor is all set to turn director with a Vashu Bhagnani produced venture, tentatively titled Akad. Much like Arshad's famous on screen characters, the film is going to be a quirky action comedy.

Confirming the news, Arshad said, "It is true that I am directing a film. It will go on floors by the end of the year or early next year. I would not like to say anything at the moment. Let the film fall into place. We have to sign the actors as well. All I can say is that the film is titled Akad. It is difficult to categorize it into a genre. It can perhaps be best termed as an action."

A source however said, "Arshad wanted to make a film on the lines of Tarantino. A friend had narrated the idea to him. It can be best described as film with a quirky sense of humour and a good dose of action. Arshad has planned to treat it very differently. The film will start with the climax and move backwards."
