News of a possible cameo by A R Rahman in a film that features actor Biju Meon as a percussionist in the music maestro's troupe seems to have taken the musician himself by surprise.

The film in question is a story about five friends, penned by scriptwriter Sachi, who informed Times of India about the team looking forward to rope in Rahman to play a cameo in the film.

However, Rahman has allegedly denied being part of this venture. Sources connected to the management of Raman clarify, "A R Rahman is not doing any role in any Malayalam film, or for that matter, in any film in any other Indian language. Nor has he permitted or authorised anyone to make any movie based on him or the members of his orchestra."
