Popular actor and singer Anton Jude passed away early today after he suffered a sudden heart attack.  

 

Anton, who debuted on stage, went on to play unforgettable characters in films like Bahubuthayo, Rankewita, Numba Nadan Apata Pissu, Sikuru Hathe, Rosa Kele, Ethumai Methumai and several other popular movies. 

 

 

He acted in tele dramas Punchi Rala, Sabanda Pabilis, Sakisanda Pabilis and others. His song ‘Ais Amma Gundu (Una Puruke Balu Walige) was also a popular hit among the masses. 

 

Anton Jude Gomes who studied at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic School, Mount Lavinia was 51 at the time of his death.
