How fashionable are you personally?
Love fashion and always do buy new stuff so I could say I am fashionable.

What was your inspiration for your brand Rum Punch?
The beach. Rum Punch is brand that encapsulates contemporary, yet classically feminine design with a focus on swim and beachwear, along with complementary garments and accessories. The brand’s current core is centered on “Resort Wear” which is a category of clothing that is easy to pack, lightweight, and comfortable, and that can be worn while travelling and vacationing in the tropics.

What inspired you to get in to fashion?
Well.. from my younger days, I loved to draw.. my parents saw this and supported me to be a fashion designer

Tell me about your collection for 2015 at the BrightSpark show?
The print artwork was inspired by tire impressions on the road surface. It's all about digital print artwork and look and feel to the garments.

The uniqueness of this collection is most of the garments are reversible so that you can wear both sides with different looks..

What are your thoughts on the Colombo Design Council?
I think it’s a good in that just like we have JAAF for the apparel industry we need some kind of organisation for fashion industry as well.
 
What is the biggest challenge that designers face today?
Raw material suppliers and manufacturing plants.

When was the last time you tried something new?
Yesterday

What three words would you use to describe the last three months of your life?
Interesting, Exciting and Exhausting. No complains I am doing what I love.
 
How is it to be married?
Great, fantastic only coz my husband is very supportive.
 
What would you say is your biggest fashion advice to your husband?
Keep it simple and classy with a touch of colour.  

How competitive is the fashion industry?
I think it's very competitive but in a good way.. so that we as designers push ourselves more to make things more interesting.

If you had 4, 5 seconds to live, what would you do as you countdown?
Stay close to my loved ones.

If not design, what would have you chosen?  
Very difficult question as I can't think of anything else.

I think both collections were very strong, however the styles are different to each other so I can’t really compare. If I were to select a collection to suit my personality it will be Indi.
