What’s new in the world of music?
Big time digital evolution in all the aspects – Music production, music business etc.
What are the new projects you are working on?
Some Sinhala songs (Kasun Kalhara, Sashiika Nisansala, Saranga and Umali, Mihindu and a few more. And there are few projects in Hindi, Tamil and Bangla.
Tell me about your intentional projects?
I started my career with a Canadian Tamil film called “1999” where I worked with my favourite singer SP Balasubramaniam, Karthik, Tipu and Harini.. And after a long time, I did a project called “Amma/Maa” in 6 languages (Sinhala, Tamil, Hindi, Malaylam, Telugu and Bangla) with 6 different singers and lyrics with the same melody and visuals.
Currently I am working on two Hindi Songs with Arijit Singh and Neeti Mohan, an unnamed Tamil project, a few Bangla songs with popular Bangladeshi singers like Hridoy Khan, Nancy, Shafiq Tuhin, Imran and Porshi etc.
What keeps you busy?
Music, my telecom consultancy work, my dog and lately, I am traveling a lot.

What do you think is the biggest challenge in the world of music in Sri Lanka?
Making all kind of genres commercially acceptable and viable instead of just one monotonous type.
How important do you feel is a music video for a good song?
It gives support and promotion for the audio and it helps an artist to build his or her career, especially for singers.
Tell me about your new song with Mihindu Ariyaratne?
It is in a different genre compared to the songs in the current trend and it is getting a very good response. The video was also done differently. This song was sung by Mihindu Ariyaratne and written by Sajith V Chathuranga and the video is done by Ayesh Wijeratne.
What are your thoughts on the new talent?
I always try to bring out new “good” talents. I can proudly say, we have created a few big names in the industry through our camp.
How was your childhood?
I am from Jaffna, so I went through the hardness of the war. Studies were the main objective for me. Music was always my passion.
