The Creative Arts Foundation presents 'Dashing Through The Snow', a comedy directed by Jith Pieris on 29-30 November at 7:30 p.m. at Bishop's College Auditorium, Colombo 3.
Tickets are now available at the venue Tel: 2391265.
Each act takes place on a day leading up to Christmas Eve, with the first act beginning with “Mrs. Blitzen” (a poorly-disguised Mrs. Claus who is cheating or attempting to cheat on Mr . Santa with Binky the elf).
Without giving away the ending, it’s safe to say there would be a good ending with a brother and sister attempting to reunite two elderly, eccentric and feuding aunts.
The third act features Hensley and Lenora - the two put on a “shamelessly abridged” version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol that is a highlight of the play.
A little bit about Dashing Through The Snow?
It's been on and off Broadway for a number of years, and it's a very popular production. Mainly the creators add all the fun and humour that has made this a popular production and I thought this will be perfect for this year, to bring out the jolly season.
How has it been working with the cast?
Wonderful FUN loving cast, only thing is that they laugh so much, I hope they hold themselves together when they are on stage. Remembering fun times during rehearsals is what makes armature theatre more interesting.
What plans for 2015?
I’m planning on doing three productions. One may be a historical Ceylon play off an “Old Ceylon” collection.
